Good quality wine is not obtained by chance.  Several key elements exist that allow such valuable quality to be achieved.  Among them are the climate and the soil.

The valley where Korta Wine Cellar and Vineyards is located is called “Sagrada Familia” (Sacred Family), this is precisely where the climatic and soil conditions are about the best in the world for producing red wine.

The Korta project contemplates the exclusive production of red vine stocks.  The characteristics of the zone, particularly the thermal addition allows for the production of red wines having an excellent structure and concentration.

The varieties used have been selected in accordance to these climatic characteristics; however their location within the orchard sections has been determined in accordance to the soil conditions existing in the place.  Thus, for example the Merlot variety has been planted in those areas where the soil is deeper and has a high moisture retention capacity.  These factors reduce the early dehydration of the grape bunches that occurs in this variety.
